General counseling is offered daily at the Marine and Family
Services Annex. The Counselor is trained to work with individuals and
families with a variety of emotional problems. Some examples would be
helping individuals cope with depression, resolving issues in marriage,
discussing parenting issues, etc. The Counselor has special training
working with issues of trauma such as abuse, loss of a loved one, domestic
violence, etc. Groups are ongoing for special interest areas.
MCCS Marine and Family
Services
Counseling Center is
offering Life Skills classes to men and
women. Classes start May 1 and will cover stress management,
relationships, anger management, dealing with change and learning to
change. Register by calling 639-5252.
The Support Group is for family members of those who are
deployed. Time and place is to be announced.
The Counselor has experience working with substance
abuse and holds a Masters addiction Counseling (MAC) certification and is
also a Licensed Personal Counselor (LPC).
