Our programs are directly related to combat
readiness. They serve as the main mechanism through which a
variety of programs, services, and activities will be provided
to our single and married Marines, Sailors and families, as
well as retired service members, their family members and
authorized DOD civilian employees. Marine & Family Services is
the point of main effort in providing and supporting
prevention services for our Marines and their families, as
well as enhancing community readiness. We are in Building

Transition Assistance (TAMP): Provides
support to prepare separating and retiring service members, their
families and displaced DOD civilians for entry/reentry into the job
market. Provides assistance to, retirees, reservists, and DOD
civilians with job search needs.

Provides Permanent Change of Station information and services.
Family
Member Employment: Provides
assistance to spouses and authorized family members with job search
needs.
Retired Activities:
Provides military retirees and their
families with information, support and advocacy.
Exceptional Family Member Program:
Coordinates the mandatory enrollment and
advocate for active duty members to ensure DEERS eligible family
members with disabilities receive appropriate services to meet their
physical, emotional or educational needs.
Information and Referral:
Provides assistance in determining informational needs along with
linkage and referrals to resources to accommodate those needs.
Military OneSource: A web
based information and referral program for all active duty Marines and
their families. OneSource offers advice, support, practical
solutions and online resources. Log on with marines as the user ID
and semper fi as the password.
Prevention
and Education: Provides
educational classes to enhance the quality of life by assisting in making
sound life decisions.
Family
Advocacy Program: Provides services
to prevent or intervene into cases of spouse abuse and child abuse.
Provides treatment to victims of sexual assault.
Victim
Advocacy Services: Provides
voluntary assistance to victims of domestic violence, rape/sexual
assault, and child abuse. These services focus upon the safety needs
of the victim.
New Parent
Support Program: Provides a variety
of services such as home visits, parenting classes, with families
having children under the age 6.
Substance
Abuse Services: Provides drug and
alcohol services which include screenings, assessments, prevention and
education, group therapy and individualized treatment to active duty
service members and retirees.
Lifelong Learning:
Provides a variety of education related services and library needs.
Library:
Provides a variety of materials for adult and child reading,
periodicals and computer internet access. Books on tape and CD are
available for checkout as well as a limited number of movies on DVD.

Marine Reading Room: There
is a special “space” that has been designated especially for Marines
located in the Base Library. The room was established in November 2004
to house the books that comprise the Commandant’s Reading List.
Marines can use the room anytime for a variety of activities to
include quiet reading, DVD/VCR viewing and small meetings. Meetings
must be scheduled. The room was designed to be aesthetically pleasing,
creating a relaxing atmosphere for Marines. Hours are the same as the
library.
Base Education: The Base
Education Center is located in Bldg. 3010, outside the main gate. Base
Education Center contains comprehensive information pertaining to the
Marine Corps Lifelong Learning Program, formerly the Voluntary
Educational Program, a library of college catalogs, and information
about area educational institutions and distance learning
opportunities. Additionally, an educational services officer is on
hand to help with a service member’s request for higher education. The
Base Education Center offers a variety of opportunities on base to
earn certifications and diplomas, as well as associates, bachelors and

General Counseling: Provides
short term counseling and support for Marines, their families and
other eligible patrons experiencing difficulty with issues such as
grief and loss, marital counseling and support for families of
deployed Marines/sailors.

Financial Management Program: The PFMP (Personal Financial
Management Program) Coordinator provides training, information and one
on one financial counseling to members of MCLB Albany military and
civilians. Information is presented on a variety of topics. Click for
